WestJet nailed corporate giving with this campaign. They set up a “virtual Santa” in the airport for passengers to visit before their flight. After taking lots of notes, they got to work on an extreme shopping spree to purchase and gift wrap everything on their passengers’ wish lists. When the customers arrived at baggage claim, they were surprised with a conveyor belt full of personalized gifts.
All random acts of kindness are lovely. But the personal touch on this one was above and beyond what makes us view a company as socially responsible.
When the video was posted, they pledged to surprise a family in need with a free flight if the video gets 200,000 views. As of 12/10/13, it’s at 3.6 million. Kudos, WestJet.
Oh, and check out the bloopers video, too!
